The player card
Every attribute, explained
Football Rogue uses eight direct football attributes. TEC and COM are not hidden inside composite ratings: what a choice improves is the number you see on the card.

The eight football attributes
Technique, composure and mentality are different
Technique asks whether the player can execute the touch. Composure asks whether pressure makes the decision worse. Mentality asks whether the player read the situation early enough. A press-resistant midfielder may need TEC to escape, MEN to choose the right exit and COM to make the late action clean.
Look at the attributes printed on the card
Take the press uses TEC + MEN: control the ball and see the exit. Snap shot uses SHO + TEC: strike before the block sets. Last gasp uses SHO + COM: finish when fatigue and pressure are highest.
Two players with the same Overall can therefore solve different match pictures. A technical winger may escape the first defender but rush the finish. A composed striker may score without being the best dribbler.
Condition, Confidence, Trust and Fame
These four numbers describe the career around the ball rather than football technique.
- Condition is physical availability. Low Condition raises injury and decline concerns.
- Confidence influences season performance and can rise or fall with choices and results.
- Trust is the manager’s belief in selecting you. It affects starts, your place and the fight with the player in your position.
- Fame is public reputation. It supports awards, visibility and the scale of the career story.
During a match, Legs replaces Condition as the immediate energy resource. Momentum is the state of the night, not a permanent player stat.
What Overall means
Overall is a compact summary, useful for comparing the player with the level around them. It does not replace the eight attributes in match maths. The action card names the stats it uses, and the opponent may counter one family of actions while leaving another open.
Potential is also not a guaranteed future Overall. It is the current development ceiling. Exceptional seasons can raise parts of that ceiling; spreading growth too broadly can leave Signature requirements out of reach.
Why growth becomes expensive
The training cost is explicit: below 70 costs one point per level, the 70s cost two and 80+ costs three. If the current budget cannot buy the next level, the remainder carries into the next training block.
A winger saving for an elite PAC level is choosing not to repair every ordinary number. A centre-forward can pursue SHO and COM for finishing, or spend the same scarce points on STR and PAS to become an outlet. The cost curve turns preference into a build.
How attributes enter a match choice
Every move lists the stats it uses. The displayed outcome already includes player attributes, match state, Legs, Momentum, opponent traits, build bonuses and any repeated-pattern penalty. You do not need to calculate a hidden number behind the card.
Read the match system guide for the full order: scout the opponent, build the three-move kit, create a chance and choose when to cash it.
