The short version, then the long one

1. Agreeing to these terms

By loading or playing Football Rogue (the "game") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the game. If you are under the age at which you can agree to terms on your own where you live, ask a parent or guardian to read them with you.

2. What the game is

Football Rogue is a single-player football career simulator that runs entirely in your web browser. It is provided free of charge. There is no account to create, nothing to download, no subscription, no advertising and no in-game purchases.

The game is offered as-is and may change at any time. Features can be added, altered or removed, and the game may be taken offline permanently without notice.

3. Everything in the game is fictional

All players, clubs, leagues, cups, managers, crests, nicknames and competitions in Football Rogue are invented. Any resemblance to a real person, club, competition or governing body is coincidental.

Football Rogue is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to any real football club, league, federation, broadcaster or player, and does not use any real-world logo, kit design, badge or likeness.

4. Your save data

Your career is stored in your own browser's local storage on your own device. It is never uploaded to a server, and the operator of this site cannot see it, restore it or recover it.

That means your save can disappear for ordinary reasons outside anyone's control: clearing your browsing data, using private or incognito mode, switching browser or device, browser storage limits, or a future update that changes how saves are structured. No guarantee is made that a save will survive. You can download a local backup from the Legacy screen, but you remain responsible for keeping that file safe and private.

5. What you may and may not do

You may play the game as much as you like, for personal, non-commercial enjoyment, and you may share links to it freely.

You agree not to:

• copy, republish, sell, licence or redistribute the game or substantial parts of it as your own work;
• modify the game and present the result as the official version;
• use automated systems to hammer the site, or otherwise attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to it or the infrastructure it runs on;
• remove or obscure any credit or notice in the game;
• use the game in any way that breaks the law where you are.

Editing your own local save in your own browser is your business. It is not encouraged, it is not supported, and no help will be given when it corrupts a career.

6. Intellectual property

The game's source code, written text, interface design, pixel art, generated crests and fictional world are owned by the operator of this site and are protected by copyright. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you.

Screenshots, retirement cards and clips of your own careers are yours to post and share, including on social platforms and video sites, with or without credit. That permission does not extend to reuploading the game itself.

7. Third-party hosting

This site is hosted by a third-party platform, which processes standard technical request data such as IP address and browser type in order to serve pages. Their handling of that data is governed by their own policies and is outside the operator's control. See the privacy notice for what that means in practice.

8. No warranty

The game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

No promise is made that the game will be uninterrupted, error-free, available at any particular time, compatible with your browser or device, or free of bugs that affect a career in progress.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of this site is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the game, including lost save data, lost time or device issues.

Because the game is supplied free of charge, no liability is accepted for any amount beyond what the law requires. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the game changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version, and continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law and your rights

Any dispute arising out of these terms will be handled under the law of the country in which the operator of this site is established. Nothing here removes or reduces the mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
