Football career simulator
Be the player, not the manager
Football Rogue follows one fictional player from an unfinished eight-year-old to retirement. You choose the work, the risk, the contract and the moves that become their game.
one complete career
What is a football career simulator?
A football career simulator puts the player’s life at the centre of the game. Instead of controlling transfers for an entire club, you follow one footballer through selection, development, contracts, injuries, form and the final decline. The question is not “Can this club win?” but “What kind of player will this person become?”
Football Rogue is a single-player browser career game. Clubs, leagues and players are fictional. The situations are recognisable: a youth cut, a senior player blocking your place, a loan that promises minutes, a manager who wants something your game does not naturally provide.
How one career unfolds
Age eight: choose an imperfect prospect
Every run begins with three players who have different roles, routes, current strengths and ceilings. You are not selecting a finished wonderkid. You are choosing which weaknesses you are willing to live with and which first move you want to build around.
Ages eleven, thirteen and fifteen: survive the cuts
Youth development is condensed into three playable trials. Each cut teaches a match move. A strong showing earns a recommendation and can master that move; a poor showing still becomes part of the player, but it may close a better first-contract route. The dedicated youth career guide explains Scouts, recommendations and academy choices.
Age sixteen: sign the first contract
The largest badge is not automatically the best choice. A local pathway gives Trust and Confidence. A development deal offers better technical growth but asks you to fight for minutes. An elite deal supplies Fame and money while putting you lower in the manager’s plans.
The professional years: choose the night that matters
Each chapter presents three fixtures with different stakes. A league route can improve Trust and write points into the live table. A glory route offers Fame but punishes a poor result. The selected match is played beat by beat; ability projects the rest of the season, while your real goals, assists, rating and result alter that projection.
The end: decline, retirement and Legacy
Pace and Fitness eventually fall. You can play on, chase one last target or retire. The game records the final attributes, clubs, goals, assists, trophies, major moments and career grade in a local Legacy archive.
What you control
- Development: which attributes receive limited growth points and which Signature requirements you chase.
- Career direction: academy or grassroots, first contract, transfers, loans, renewals and international call-ups.
- Match identity: three moves selected for the opponent, the order you spend them and one score-aware plan at 70 minutes.
- Risk: safe progress, visible gambles and the costs that follow a failed choice.
You do not control a full eleven, set ticket prices or buy players. If that is the experience you want, a football manager sim is the better category. Football Rogue stays at the altitude of one person.
How a played night becomes a full season
A single spotlight match does not pretend to be thirty matches. Position, attributes, Confidence and Trust establish a season baseline. The chosen night contributes its actual goals and assists, then its rating, result and tactical read move the remaining projection within a limited range. A brilliant player still has a strong floor; one lucky finish does not manufacture a Golden Boot.
League fixtures also write their result into a persistent table before the unplayed schedule resolves. Title, promotion and relegation chapters can create a Ladder Boss from the club beside you in that live table.
Free, browser-based and saved locally
The game runs in a modern browser on desktop, tablet and phone. There is no account, download, subscription or energy timer. The active career saves to local browser storage after each decision. A backup can be downloaded from Legacy if you want to move the save to another device.
